NZORD is running a free Education Session for the chance to meet, talk and share with others living with rare disorders. This will be a morning meeting in Wellington with two speakers and a workshop dedicated to addressing some of the challenges faced by those with rare disorders to help in creating a vision for navigating your own complex health journey. The workshop will also offer skills of resilience and being an advocate warrior for yourself or your loved one.

Caroline is a Senior Therapeutic Group Manager/Team Leader at PHARMAC, managing medicine funding applications for a range of portfolios, including immunosuppressants, biologics, metabolic and rare disorders. Caroline is a registered Pharmacist, with 10 years experience working in hospital pharmacy in paediatric medical specialities in Auckland, before moving to Wellington to join PHARMAC in 2013.
Laurie Hilsgen is Carers NZ’s chief executive and acts as the Secretariat for the NZ Carers Alliance of 45 national not for profits. She will provide an update about the current work of the Alliance and progress with key policy issues such as paid family care and respite.
