Share for Rare top fundraiser
Nirvana Health Group in Auckland raised $465 through a morning tea and raffle in their office.
Rare Disease Day is an annual opportunity to raise awareness and educate people about the thousands of rare conditions that affect more than 377,000 New Zealanders.
This year NZORD asked our supporters to host a morning or afternoon tea to raise awareness and funds for rare diseases. There are over 7,000 rare diseases which collectively affect around 8% of the population – more than diabetes.
“We had a great response to our Share for Rare campaign, with groups holding tea parties all over the country,” says Fundraising and Communications Manager Amy Watson. “A huge thank you to everyone who raised awareness of rare diseases while collecting money to help support NZORD, including My Food Bag.”
